CDIR-Health TotonicapánFrom 10 years ago contributed to the work in Citizen Oversight, mentoring, and advocacy to users of public health services in Totonicapán. I am part of the Network of Advocates and Community Defenders for the Right to Health (CDIR-Health), as a delegate to the national level. In Totonicapán, I have belonged to the Council of Indigenous Authorities, Departmental Council of Ancestral Authorities and the Council of Major.

CDIR-Health TotonicapánI am a grandmother, a midwife. Since 9 years ago I belong to the CDIR-Health. On average I have attended not less than 500 births. I've always liked to participate and defend Human Rights. In 1985 I was in the Pastoral Council, on the subjects of nutrition theory and practice of nutrition for 20 communities. I also participated in the Association of Midwives Nimalaxik, Kawok, Women's Sector, Sesan and CPO.

CDIR-Health TotonicapánI belong to the CDIR-Health since the year 2009. My service to the community so I started at the age of 13. When I was 15, I worked as a trainer in a program of education to women implemented by CEDAR and Conalfa. For 5 years I have integrated the Council of Indigenous Authorities of my community, offering community service, what Quiche is called “K ax K ol”.

My main motivation to provide accompaniment is the satisfaction of people to find a solution to their problems. As defenders of the right to health that is our job: to find solutions to the problems in the health care services in the communities.
