CDIR-Health in Sololá

The CDIR-Health in the department of Sololá has a presence in 5 municipalities, which are: Santa Cruz La Laguna, San Marcos La Laguna, San Pablo La Laguna, Conception and Nahualá, to the CDIR-HEALTH is comprised of 28 defenders. This CDIR–HEALTH is shaped by midwives, COCODEs, Auxiliary Mayors, committees and users of the services of health, community leaders and indigenous authorities. These are people who work on a voluntary basis and are part of the community, are the main actors of the process of citizen oversight of the health services.

Accompaniments

The accompanying process in conjunction with the REDCSALUD and CEGSS we provide advice and guidance

Participation in departmental

In the department of Sololá through the SESAN and the Address Area of Health develop meetings with state institutions and non-state with the participation of civil society for the boarding and search of solutions to problems and needs related to health, water and sanitation, nutrition, among others.

In coordination with INCAP, CDIR-Health and District 7 of the MSPAS it worked the

Exchange of experience

We carried out an exchange of experience with medical students in the final year of the Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala city, Guatemala, to share the experience of the work of the REDCSALUD on the topic of surveillance, incidence and follow-up of patients who require medical attention.

Achievements

Of the various processes that the CDIR-HEALTH has had on the department of

Sololá, we have had some achievement within which is: the management of an ambulance for the Post of Village Health Patzutzún a need reflected by the communities in the rural area of the municipality, resulting in a unified way between the authorities and civil society that the ambulance has been moved into the community to benefit several surrounding communities.
